February Update
Iglesia Latina de Columbia: The Iglesia Latina de Columbia church plant has been turned over to Esteban Cevallos, a good friend of ours. We are excited about the future of this Latino church plant, and equally enthused about the leadership team God enabled us to put together there.
It is a joy to plant a seed, watch it grow, and release it to become what God desires for it to be.
Hispanic Church Plant #2 Currently we are working with a few leaders and families in the community where we live, Lexington. God is beginning to show us the pieces that may be the beginning of a second Hispanic plant in the Columbia area.
Please pray as we work with these families to discover what God has in store for us all.
Venezuela As I write the political situation in Venezuela continues to deteriorate. However, in spite of the difficulties the Venezuelan church is facing, it continues to grow. Kristina and I have an opportunity to work with a motivated group of young leaders and pastors in Venezuela. The leaders desire to develop strategic partners with one another in order to reach their cities and nation for Christ.
Our role with these leaders will be to serve as a coach and a facilitator to their goal of planting dozens of churches in 05 & 06. Join us in prayer as we explore ways to strengthen our partnership with these leaders, and as we raise the necessary support to engage this open door of opportunity.
The Family Connor, Kristina, and I continue to enjoy this opportunity that we have to serve. The road isn't always easy, but we know that every difficulty or obstacle is more than worth any hardship.
Connor is finishing up his first year in home education. He is currently in the 4th grade. Everyday when I look at him, I'm amazed at how blessed Kristina and I are to have such a healthy and well mannered son.
Kristina has begun to mentor young ladies and minister to ladies in struggling relationships. It is exciting to watch her find her groove and move forward with the giftedness God has given her.
I'm doing well. The flu bug that's been going around finally got the best of me, but thankfully, I've been able to rebound and get busy once again.
I pray that this update finds each of you well, and stay tuned for more updates.
