Overdue
This post has been long overdue, but at least it is finally here.
Since Thankgiving much has happened in the Alford household, and in our ministry. For all of 2004 we partnered with the Missionary Church in reaching out to Columbia. Although it was a pleasent experience, after much prayer and consideration we feel that in order to better accomplish the mission that God has placed before us it is best to end our formal partnership.
So we've stepped out again on our own, and have begun to move into a new house. Matter of fact, we have most of the house packed up tonight as we hope to start moving tomorrow.
We are continuing to work with the Latino population. Our 1st plant is close to the handing over point where we can begin to concentrate on #2. In Lexington, we already have a few contacts and some leadership potential to start working on #2. My prayer is to see 5-6 Latino church plants planted around the city. Then multiply into other cities.
Part-time we are plugging into Radius Church in Columbia where we are working on leadership development and assisting in the vision of the church being a multi-cultural church.
So...there is the jist of what is going on...more specifics will follow, and now that some of the transitions are over we will be posting more updates and information.
Thanks for your prayers...
